Die Kultur ist das was unsere Gesellschaft kennzeichnet und war das entscheidende Mittel der Zivilisation der meschlichen Bevölkerung. Sie ist das, was der Mensch sich selbst erdacht hat und mit dem eigenen Geist und der eigenen Schaffenskraft Wirklichkeit werden ließ. Diese Art der Kulturdefinition geht weit bis ins römische Reich zurück. Die Kultur ist dabei ein umfassender Begriff, der sowohl das vom Mensch erschaffene Rechtswesen als auch jegliche Kunstformen, wie die Musik oder Malerei beinhaltet. Der Begriff Kultur bedeutet ins Lateinische übersetzt soviel wie Pflege oder Ackerbau und gehört damit ursprünglich zum Bereich der Landwirtschaft.
